Sharon Courter age 72 of Midland, MI. passed away peacefully on April 14, 2022, after a battle with cancer. Her family was by her side. Sharon was born in Holly, Michigan on January 2,1950 to the late Thomas and Nancy Courter. She was a lifelong resident of Midland where she attended Bullock Creek Schools and worked many years as a CNA and later in the food service industry. In her free time, Sharon would enjoy knitting, crocheting, playing bingo, enjoying a good book or taking in a local baseball game with her son and his family.
Sharon is survived by her children Laurie (Kathy) Curtiss of Mount Pleasant, Benjamin (Dawn) Tisron of Blanchard, Sherrie Mason (Kyle Schafer) of Lyons and Amanda Mason (Ryan Irish) of Clarksville. In addition, she is survived by her siblings: Thomas Courter of Essexville, Scott Courter (Jill Fields) of Higgins Lake; Jeanie (Ben) Hassen of Midland, Amy (Craig) Courter-Moten of Baker, LA. Sharon is also survived by her grandchildren: Jessica Wadle, Danielle Thrush of Weidman, Renee Nease of Lyons, Sara Nelson of Grand Rapids, James Mason of Lyons, and Alex Tisron of Blanchard. Also surviving are several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends whom she held close.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister in-laws, Linda and Karyn Courter, great grandchildren Curtis Wadle and Jane Thrush, and her longtime partner and best friend James (Jimmy) Emans in 2019.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In honor of Sharon’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
