Obituary for Roy Seeley

Roy Seeley, 75, of Shepherd, passed away Friday, December 3, 2021. No funeral services will be held due to Roy’s wishes to be cremated. The family will be having a celebration of life luncheon on January 15, 2022, at the Greendale Township Hall in Oil City at 4750 W. Isabella Road, from 1 – 5pm.

Roy was born in Mt. Pleasant on July 13, 1946, to Henry Ira Seeley and Mary Jane Post. He married Patricia Louise Craven of Alma on December 10, 1966, and were married for 54 years. Roy was employed at Alma Products where he worked until retirement. Throughout this life he went from playing football and baseball in high school and continued playing ball as an adult for Riverdale Tavern as well as being an avid sportsman who enjoyed spending time in the outdoors with family and friends.

He had been a member of Black Creek Conservation Club for many years and then became a lifetime member of the Clare Rod and Gun Club where he was Vice President for 5 years. He taught Hunter’s Education for 25+ years and his past time hobbies included fishing, hunting, shooting trap with friends and reloading his own ammunition. Roy had also started making his own fishing lures. He sold them at the Isabella County Flea Market, where he made many new friends.

Roy is survived by his wife Patricia Seeley, his two daughters, Tina (Doug) Miller of Shepherd and Tonya (Ben) Glew of DeWitt, grandchildren Christina Martin of Shepherd and Justin Kappler of Mt. Pleasant, a great-grandson Lincoln Stebbins of Shepherd, half-brother Charlie (Cindy) Seeley of Bay City and half-sister Marg Seeley of Shepherd.

Roy was preceded in death by both his father and mother, as well as a stepmother, Beverly Seeley. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help cover the cost of the services.
