Obituary for Rose Miller-Averitte

MILLER-AVERITTE, ROSE HOPE

Was born on January 2, 1955, to the late Barbara Ricklefs and Robert Miller, Sr., in Saginaw, Michigan. At age 67, Rose went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 31, 2022 at the MediLodge in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.

A Celebration Service will be held Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 1:00-5:00 at the Eight 2 Eight Hall on 221 West Wright Ave. Shepherd, Michigan.

Rose was employed at the Soaring Eagle Casino as a chef and previously owned a restaurant in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Rose loved her family very much, playing her keyboard, ‘cheffing it up’ in the kitchen, loved to dance, and loved music.

Rose is survived by her very loving husband Hayes B. Averitte, Jr., her sons Jay Anthony (Marion) Davis, Antonio Rolland, Damon Rolland, daughter Lorraine Rolland. Granddaughters, Parker Sangster, Charlee Davis and Jenesis Wagner. Siblings, Gretchen (David) Oppermann, William Ricklefs Jr., Rick (Gretchen) Ricklefs, Kevin (Robin) Ricklefs, Sr., Barbara Sue (Roger) Coleman, Iva Henschel, and Nicole Ricklefs. Sister-in-laws Elizabeth Davidson-Miller, Debra Miller, Kim McMahon, Deborah (Leman) Hicks and Pandora Averitte. Many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews.

Rose was preceded in death by husbands Wilfredo Rolland and Mustafa Machhour, her grandmothers Rose Savage and Mary Miller, father William Ricklefs, Sr., brothers Robert Miller, Jr., Alan Miller I, and Lawrence Ricklefs, sisters Denise Santoro, and Dawn Ricklefs, brother in-laws Steven Santoro and Wayman Ransom and sister in-law Janice Averitte.
