Richard “Dick” Walton passed away, at the age of 89, after a long-fulfilled life on January 10, 2023. Dick was born on July 22, 1933, in Pontiac, MI as the only child to Leslie and Mildred (Neville) Walton. Dick graduated from Alma High School and went on to attend Ferris State College. He met the love of his life, Donna (Johnson) Walton, on a blind date in 1952 and were married in 1955.

Dick followed in his father’s footsteps by owning and managing Giant Supermarkets, Giantway, Ray’s Food Fair and Richmar Properties. Dick enjoyed spending his free time with the ones he loved. He spent many winters snowmobiling with family on and around Cadillac Michigan trails. He loved showing his antique car collection at many shows and driving in parades with his sons and grandson. He also loved spending quality time at his family's cottage on Crystal Lake, in Crystal, Michigan. Fast boats and pontoon rides were among his favorite things. On any given day Dick could be seen swimming up and down the shoreline.

Dick was preceded in death by his son, Patrick (Sally) Walton. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Donna (Johnson) Walton, son, Michael, his daughter Leslie (Anne) and son Mark (Kim), 7 grandchildren, Haven (Brent), Hilliary, Brandy Lee, Hillary, Steven (Anna), Travis and Austin and 5 great grandchildren.

Per Dick’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held later with family.
