Obituary for Phyllis McQueen
Phyllis Jean McQueen, age 66, died on May 26, 2022, at the Woodland Hospice House in Mt Pleasant, MI, after a short battle with cancer.
Phyllis was born July 31, 1955, the youngest of five siblings to Ron and Martha McQueen.
Phyllis spent many years as an employee of TrueValue Hardware in Edmore, MI. She spent most of her time in the MidMichigan area, unless there was a NASCAR race she could get to. Phyllis also enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and going camping. It has been said that “to know her was to love her” and her positive outlook on life will be missed by her many close friends and her family.
Phyllis is survived by her two children, Richie Wing (Robin Brown) and Michele Guild, mother, Martha McQueen, three siblings, Lonnie (Ruth) McQueen, Charlene (Dennis) Wright, Ann (Tom) Britten, and five grandchildren, Breyanna Wing, Mykenzie Wing, Caleb Collison, Carlee Collison, and Izabel Guild.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her father, Ron McQueen, and her brother, Lynn McQueen.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will take place on Saturday, June 4, at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Vestaburg with a luncheon to follow. We are asking for those who want to give, consider potted flowers or donations to the family. Thank you for caring and loving our mom during this journey of life.
