Obituary for Pete Stone
STONE, PETE, age 80, of Oil City, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Mt. Pleasant.
Per Pete’s wishes, cremation has taken place at Daisy Hill Crematory in Mt. Pleasant. A Celebration of Life Dinner will take place at the Mt. Pleasant Eagle’s #4463, 1440 S. Isabella Rd, Mt. Pleasant on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 2 p.m. with Lil John Engelhardt officiating. A Luncheon will immediately follow at the Eagle’s. Memorial Contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the Eagle’s.
Pete was born May 6, 1941, in Oil City, son of John “Ted” and Millie (Brown) Stone. He married Laura Nichols on July 19, 1997. Pete proudly served his country in the United States Navy. A truck driver by trade, Pete worked at Miller Transportation and North American Transportation for over 22 years collectively. He was a member of Country Classics Band and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Eagles. Pete loved classic cars, woodworking, driving, and country and bluegrass music.
Pete is survived by his wife Laura Stone; children John Stone of Coleman, Julie Stone of Oil City, Trina Stone (Alvin Zygmunt) of Mt. Pleasant, Eric Stone of Coleman; stepsons Josh (Sara) Welsh of Oil City, Jake Welsh of Mt. Pleasant, Kristopher (Bobbi) Medford of Oil City, Larry (Heather) Medford of Belleville, IL; 30 grandkids; 24 great-grandkids; sisters Patsy Marshall of Harrison, Imogene Johnson of Mt. Pleasant, Peggy Neal of Dade City, FL, and Betty Benzinger of Shepherd.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Jodi Shultz; brother Eugene “Jim” Stone; grandsons John and James Shultz.
