Paris Collin Copeman, 79, of Rosebush, MI, passed away on May 9, 2023, just shy of his 80th birthday, at Medilodge of Mt. Pleasant, MI.
Born May 11, 1943, in Detroit, MI, he was the son of E. Collin Copeman and CharlotAnn (Wade) Copeman. He spent his childhood in Farmington and Howell. He was a 1961 graduate of Howell High School and a 1965 graduate of Michigan State University with a B.A. in Criminal Justice. Paris worked for the U.S. Government in Chicago, and then as an independent insurance claims adjuster in Michigan and throughout the U.S., He had many adventures in Florida, Texas, Alaska, New Orleans, California, and Canada. He was forced to stop working due to health concerns, or he would have been chasing floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, oil spills, and tornados to the day he died. In retirement, he enjoyed “puttering” in the garage with power tools (for which he demonstrated no discernable skills and made his wife nervous) and playing video poker at the casino. Paris was an avid reader and loved to interact with all kinds of people, and he remained to the end, the most non-politically correct person one might meet.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Gail Hale. His sons, Michael C. (Melissa) of Clio and David L. Copeman (Mary Monine) of Virginia Beach, VA. His sisters, Carla (Mel) Burkart of St. Louis, MO. And Candy (Bob) Hayes of Fort Gratiot, MI, with many cousins and grandchildren in Florida, Ohio, and Michigan.
His family and friends invite you to a celebration of life Friday, June 2, from 12-4 at Bucks Run Golf Club, 1559 S Chippewa Rd. Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858. Please RSVP to david_copeman@hotmail.com or call 757-309-5932.
