Obituary for Larry VanConant

Larry Ralph VanConant, age 69 of Weidman, our dear husband, father and Papa went to be with Jesus Sunday December 26, 2021. He was the rock that steadied our family through good times and bad.

Thankfully we were all together for a wonderful Christmas Day so he was very happy.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years Robin; their children Heather, Stacey(Alison), and Charlie(Allyson); his grandson Thomas Ginter and his blonde wonder Destiny Rose; his sister Linda(Jack) Youngs of Texas; aunts, uncles and much loved cousins.

He is predeceased by his father Ralph, mother Mildred (Knorr) Reskevics and step father Leon Reskevics.

He was a member at Mount Pleasant Community Church. He served on the Nottawa Sherman Fire Department for approximately 25 years, he loved being a part of that team. They served him well when called for rescue Saturday night. Thanks guys!

Larry was also part of the tenth Michigan Civil War reenactment team. This was during the phase of his life when he wasn’t getting around very well, but the team always let him do what he was able and made him feel welcome.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday December 30, 2021 at Mount Pleasant Community Church, 1400 W. Broomfield Rd, Mount Pleasant. There will be a visitation at the church Wednesday December 29 from 6-8 pm and at 10:00 until the start of service Thursday. Officiating will be Jeff Huisjen from Community Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the wishes of the family.
