Obituary for Darrin Kortman
Darrin Lee Kortman, 56, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 15, 2021. Born in Mount Pleasant on June 25, 1965, he was the son of the late Ivan and Gloria (Wirgue) Kortman.
Darrin was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, and attended Wisconsin Trade School for painting. He was a third-generation painter and a high lift operator at Soaring Eagle Casino.
Darrin attended Potter House Family Worship Center and was strong in his faith.
Darrin was a devoted family man, follower of Christ, loyal friend and strong role model for his children. He was a free spirit, and lived his life to the fullest always on his own terms. He enjoyed family bonfires, hunting, fishing, camping, and could not turn down a deal. He was a collector of tools, a lover of sweets, quick with his jokes and generous with his heart.
Darrin is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Tracy (Gregg) Kortman, two sons, Kyle (Sandi) Kortman, Kirk Kortman, daughter Kelly (Kody) Striggow, six grandchildren, Rick Reyes, Emma Kortman, Molly Kortman, Jordan Striggow, Jacob Striggow, Jessa Striggow, brother Dale (Kathy) Kortman, sister Susan (Emmett) Searles, Lynette Kortman and aunt Sarah Ann Grams.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
