Obituary for Betty Willaman
Betty Lou Willaman, 88, of Alma passed away Friday, September 2, 2022, at Masonic Pathways.
Betty was born February 7, 1934 in Mansfield Ohio, the daughter of Amos and Caroline (Dinninger) Courtney. Betty married Merton Willaman on February 9, 1952 in Alma, Michigan and they were married for 42 years.
Betty was a devoted wife, and enjoyed spending time with her family camping and motorcycling. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren especially during the holidays.
Betty is survived by her son Gregory (Janie) Willaman of Greenville, Michael (Judy) Willaman of Alma, and Kathy (Bob) Warner of Alma; three grandsons, Wayne (Amanda) Willaman of Ionia, Brad Willaman of Greenville, and Jared (Amanda) Warner of St. Louis; four great-grandchildren, Macy and Natalie Willaman and Aiden and Addison Warner; and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Courtney of St. Louis.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Merton; parents, Amos and Caroline Courtney; siblings, Phylis (Lester) Smith; Wallace Courtney and Melvin (Doris) Courtney.
Per Betty's wishes, cremation has taken place. No public services will be held. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Commission on Aging of Gratiot County.
